The Radiology Department is located off the main hospital corridor, half way along the slope, just downhill from the outpatient access corridor.

For all appointments:

US (ultrasound)

Opening hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. All US (ultrasound) examinations must be made in advance by appointment. If you are running late or have been unable to attend your appointment, please contact the Radiology Department direct on 020 8909 5443.

Private patient US referrals will be accepted, and although appointments are still required these can be made outside normal working hours on occasion.

X-Ray

Opening hours are 8am – 8pm, Monday – Friday and 8am – 4pm, Saturdays.

X-rays are performed on a walk-in basis throughout the opening hours to support the outpatient department appointments. If you have been referred for an x-ray during your outpatient appointment, you can visit imaging and have the x-ray examination performed on the same day.

On some occasions there may be a wait for your x-ray, if a significant number of walk-in patients have come to imaging at the same time. This occurs during busy outpatient clinic lists.

Bookings are made for long bone measurement x-rays however, as these take some time to perform. These appointments are offered on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 9am or 2pm at the Stanmore site.

Again, the imaging services will only accept private patient referrals from external referrers. Imaging services are not provided for NHS referrals from other sites, as the RNOH Trust is a tertiary referral centre.

Fluoroscopy

Opening hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. All fluoroscopy (screening) examinations must be by advance appointment. If you are running late or have been unable to attend your appointment, please contact the Radiology Department direct on 020 8909 5443.

Private patient referrals will be accepted, but appointments are required. The fluoroscopy (screening) service is not a walk in service.
