Notice of Appointment of External Auditors for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust
The Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 required NHS Trusts to procure and to locally appoint their own auditors for the year 2017/18 and for subsequent financial years.
The Trust used an established procurement framework for the selection of potential bidders and an Auditor Panel was established to advise the Trust Board on the selection and appointment of the External Auditor.
In its recommendation to the Trust Board, the Auditor Panel had considered the need for continuity during a period of change at the Trust alongside the need to avoid potential handover risks during the future major redevelopment project. Grant Thornton were considered to be a firm that provides a good level of service.
The Trust Board approved the appointment of Grant Thornton for a period of two years on 14 December 2016.
