About the RNOH Charity

RNOH Charity NEW Logo - March 2019.png

The Charity’s mission is to strengthen and support the people, research and infrastructure that make the RNOH one of the world’s best orthopaedic hospitals.

The RNOH Charity is passionate about patients at RNOH having an outstanding experience as they rebuild their lives, both physically and mentally.

The Charity makes grants over and above what the NHS can provide, which go towards pioneering research, state-of-the-art buildings and equipment, and patient and staff well-being services.

The RNOH Charity is very proud to have awarded more than £4 million in grants between 2019 and 2022.

Its four main goals are:

1) Enhancing the patient experience;

2) Improving the staff experience;

3) Creating a world-class facility;

4) Investing in medical research.

Making the impossible possible

The Charity has launched a new campaign, called Impossible Possible to raise more than £1 million this year to continue to support the hospital’s visionary plans.

RNOH has been doing the impossible for over 100 years by rebuilding people’s lives when they face complex orthopaedic conditions or injury.

They’re doing things that no other hospital can. That’s what makes the hospital extraordinary. But being extraordinary needs extra investment.

Together with our ongoing funding towards the volunteer service, staff wellbeing, cutting- edge equipment and much-needed redevelopment projects, some exciting new projects include:

  • State-of-the art imaging equipment in the Hospital’s operating theatres, enabling surgeons to see in far greater detail, while prioritising patient safety and comfort;
  • Transforming the spinal cord injury centre’s day room;
  • Continuing with pioneering research and development that benefits patients’ experience.

Support RNOH Charity

Your valued contribution will go towards our vital work, strengthening and supporting RNOH. As a national and international centre of excellence, each year the RNOH treats more than 150,000 patients of all ages with complex orthopaedic conditions, including spinal cord injuries, bone cancer, scoliosis, and acute hip and knee problems.
