Dr Huma is a graduate of Glasgow University and started her career at the Royal Childrens’ hospitals of Glasgow and Manchester before becoming the Professorial Registrar at Westminster Children’s hospital where she undertook her first fellowship in Paediatric Gastroenterology.

She then moved to Cornell University, New York to complete a post-doctoral Fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology and went on to become an Assistant Professor in the Department.

After five years she returned to the UK and became a Consultant Paediatrician at Wexham Park Hospital and the John Radcliff Hospital, Oxford. During this time she was heavily engaged in teaching, being first Tutor and then Head of School of Paediatrics for Oxford Deanery as well as continuing as Undergraduate Tutor. She was also, over that time Clinical Director, Regional Chair of the Oxford Diabetes Network, and Named Doctor for Safeguarding.

In 2015 Dr Huma started as Director of Children’s Services at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital where she oversees all aspects of Children’s Services and provides a specialist expertise in disorders of growth.
