Robotic spinal surgery at RNOH was featured in BBC's One Show last night.
A team led by consultant spinal surgeon Mr Michael Mokawem undertook a complex spinal procedure to reduce severe spinal pain in a patient who had already undergone a series of operations over many years to fuse her damaged vertebrae.
In the piece, the patient, Andrea, discusses the impact of the pain on her life and family.
Mr Mokawem explains how he uses the surgical robot and how the single-stage procedure helps reduce length of stay and speed recovery for Andrea.
