NT Workforce Summit & Awards Finalist.jpgWe are absolutely delighted to announce that the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust has been shortlisted in the Workforce Team of the Year category in this year’s Nursing Times Workforce Awards!

The Nursing Times Workforce Awards are going virtual for 2020. As well as being the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, the 2020 awards ceremony will ensure that the hard work and dedication of the nursing profession is recognised and celebrated following a difficult year.

The RNOH submission detailed how we achieved ‘best in class’ recruitment, retention, and workforce activities, using a cocktail-approach in implementing: Nursing Career clinics, Transfer-schemes, Rotational schemes, International Nurse Recruitment, Flexible working, Return to practice, Preceptorship and Experienced Nurses Retention initiatives.
Everyone involved should feel extremely proud - these successful events led to reducing vacancy rates, improving turnover and retention, and from feedback received, staff feeling valued.

Our new Nursing Workforce Lead who started at the Trust in October, Claire Hynes says, “It is absolutely wonderful to see that all the hard work Temi Magbagbeola, former Nursing Workforce Lead, the Divisional Heads of Nursing and all the teams involved in these events have enabled the RNOH to be recognised and shortlisted for this award – Well done to all, I look forward to continuing this great work and working with you all!"

A very warm welcome to Claire joining the RNOH in these challenging times.

I hope many of you will be able to join the free glittering virtual ceremony taking place on Wednesday 2 December 2020 at 4pm to celebrate the Nursing Workforce collective achievements!
