On Monday 15th April 2024, volunteer buggy driver Colin carried the 150,000th passenger!
Colin joined the service in 2017 and is one of our regular buggy drivers who ferry patients and visitors across our large Stanmore site. The buggy service started on 4th July 2016 and in its first month carried around 200 people - we now usually achieve that in a couple of days.
The drivers are out in all weathers ranging from hot sun and heavy showers to freezing cold and high winds. We're very proud of the buggy team reaching this milestone and the service they give to our patients and visitors.
