child in frame and nurse.jpgPatients on orthopaedic waiting lists from across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington are being invited to attend ‘super weekend’ clinics on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26thJune and RNOH are one of the trusts involved.

The weekend, modelled on successful NHS events already held in other areas, will see a total of over one thousand people attend a 'one stop shop' held over two days at five North Central London (NCL) NHS trusts.

Patients waiting for knee, hip and other orthopaedic appointments will be able to see a consultant, nurse or Allied Health Professional. During their appointment they’ll receive diagnostic services including scans and tests, obtain a diagnosis (where possible), be referred for physiotherapy, surgery or other treatment, or be discharged with self-help, where applicable.

Members of the NCL orthopaedic clinical network have been working hard over the last few months to create and plan the event, which will reduce waiting times for patients needing high volume, low complexity care and help them get the treatment they need. The other hospitals taking aprt are:

  • North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust
  • Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust
  • University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Whittington Health NHS Trust
