Our new Adult Day Surgery Unit formally opened this week, contining our commitment to improving patient care and clinical facilities on our Stanmore site. It has been the Trust’s ambition to have a dedicated Day Surgery Unit for some time, and the moment is finally here.
The unit, consiting of 14 beds, will be open Monday to Friday from 07:00-21:00 and will enhance our ability and capacity to treat more patients in a dedicated setting by delivering safe, efficient and timely care. This builds on our success in increasing the number of day cases going through our short stay unit since December 2021 and ensures that the day surgery pathways deliver excellent experiences and outcomes for our patients. This is just the latest development in the100 year history of the RNOH at Stanmore. More to come!
