There was a wonderful celebration at RNOH last week as people came together for the 10th anniversary of the RNOH Volunteer Service and to say a fond farewell to Involvement and Volunteering Lead, Diane Young, as she retired after many years of amazing work at the hospital.

Thank you to all the volunteers and our very best wishes to Diane.

Our volunteers carry out many and varied roles that include a Patient Safety Partner, putting the patients voice at the centre of safety and quality improvement, or as a mealtime and support role with tasks ranging from delivering meals and chatting with patients over dinnertime, to supporting with feeding for patients recovering from arm/shoulder surgery.

Do you like interacting with people? We need volunteers for Bolsover Street and Stanmore, morning and afternoon to support the team gather patient feedback  - we don’t know what we don’t know so any real time feedback is valuable to proving the best patient experience and help us improve.

We often have on  off projects that we need support with. This could include   questionnaire to cake sales, answering call bells to fundraising events. If you would like to support one off events please get in touch.
