Christine_Douglas_-_NOA_winner_CROPPED.jpegCongratulations to Christine Douglas, RNOH Physiotherapist, on winning the NOA (National Orthopaedic Alliance) Excellence in Orthopaedics Awards. Christine impressed the judges with her brilliant presentation on ‘Telemedicine in Ponseti Management of Clubfoot Deformity’ in the Digital Innovation category.  On winning the award, Christine said: “It’s so good to receive recognition for our RNOH Ponseti service. Our team continues to improve services and experience for children with clubfoot and their families.” Christine is pictured receiving her award from Mr Tim Wilton, Chair of the NJR (National Joint Registry).

The Trust’s second finalists in the Digital Innovation category, Alessandro Sironi and Becky Tobin from the Improvement Team, gave a wonderful presentation on ‘First Person Patient Pathway Videos to Decrease Anxiety for Special Needs Patients’. Their work with paediatric patients has helped improved patient experience and supported the smooth running of the Trust’s services.  Becky said: “Being a finalist in the NOA awards has reinforced there is no such thing as a small idea, and any member of staff can make a difference to the experience of our patients.  I was absolutely delighted that another RNOH project won in our category, as it reinforces the ethos we have as a Trust focusing on providing the best possible experience and care to our patients.”

Well done and congratulations to our @RNOHnhs winner and finalist!
