The RNOH Research and Innovation Centre (RIC) ehowcase event earlier this week brought together expertise and fresh ideas, shining a light on the incredible research happening across RNOH and the breadth of support on offer from RIC.
Opening the event, Professor John Skinner, Director of RIC, inspired attendees with a powerful intro around the importance of research in transforming patient care and driving innovation, showcasing some examples of world-leading research that had been led by RNOH researchers.
Ira Jakupovic, Head of RIC, followed with an insightful overview, sharing the RIC’s vision and achievements that continue to position RNOH as a leader in research excellence.
The event also featured a series of engaging sessions:
- Research Funding Support – Laura Henderson, Project Development Lead, outlined a number of initiatives her team has introduced to streamline the process of applying for research funding.
- Research Management and Governance Team – Rosie Parker, Yojna Das, and Christy Benny highlighted their vital role in ensuring compliance with national regulations and supporting study set-up.
- Research Delivery Team update - Nnebuife Oji provided an update on the delivery of research, showcasing how studies are brought to life by members of her team working directly with researchers.
- Research Success Stories – Amit Patel and Fiona Fitzgerald shared inspiring examples of research making a real-world impact on patient outcomes at RNOH.
The event concluded with closing remarks from John Doyle, Director of Allied Health Professions, reinforcing the commitment to advancing research and innovation at RNOH through the Research and Innovation Centre as the central hub.
