The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Surendran Chellappah as Non Executive Director.

Surendran Chellappah.jpgSurendran is Global Head of Risk and European Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the financial services firm Sanford C. Bernstein. He was formerly European Chief Financial Officer for Instinet. He has many years of experience of leading on finance, operations and technology and of chairing risk oversight committees.

Outside of financial services, he has worked with Pilotlight, an award-winning charity to match skilled business leaders with charities and social enterprises across the UK.

He has an MBA from Henley Management College, is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Surendran will chair the Audit & Risk Committee and join the Finance & Compliance Committee.

The appointment is for a four-year term from 1 March 2020.
