Turning ideas into improvements in patient care

Research at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital is pertinent to patient needs.

Our research is focused on musculoskeletal as well as neuro-musculoskleletal conditions, rehabilitation, peripheral nerve injury repair, sarcoma detection, surgical treatments and much more.

We aim to deliver a research environment in close association with our main partner University College London Institute of Orthopaedics and Musculo-skeletal Sciences (IOMS).

IOMS has an international reputation and a track record for innovative translational research.

All of our projects involve significant input from clinicians, scientists and patients, and are supported by our experienced research administration, to deliver:

  • Over 60 on-going research projects
  • Recruitment in excess of 1000 patients a year
  • Demonstrable improvements in patient care
