The Catering Department provides patients with a wide range of choice and food that is suitable for all requirements. Patients are asked to select their menu choices daily using cards, which are taken by the catering staff. The menu offers a hot and cold choice for both lunch and supper.
All special dietary requirements are dealt with by the Catering Department with the assistance and notification of the hospital dietician who liaises with the Catering Department. The special diets that are provided for include:
- Nut allergy
- Low sodium
- Wheat free
- Soft diet
- Low fat and low calorie
- Ethnic meals including Kosher, Halal and Caribbean
The menus are available in a variety of different languages.
Meal times are:
Breakfast: 07.30 - 08.00
Mid morning drink: 10.00
Bedtime drink: 21.30
In order to comply with food legislation, only cold food may be provided to patients outside of hot food service times. Our ward kitchens support the delivery of patients' meals but are not equipped to prepare or cook meals.
