When you arrive, please go straight to reception unless otherwise instructed. There are two WCs on this floor, one of which is accessible and contains a baby changing facility. The café is for your enjoyment and will provide hot and cold drinks and snacks. If you have arrived early, please ask for a pager so that you can stay in the café, explore the artwork or visit the play area.

The ground floor has six consulting rooms in two groups, 1-4 and 5-6. Each have their own waiting area to which you will be directed when required. The waiting areas have a television that can be used to relay information to visitors or to view appropriate television programmes. Past experience has taught us that some visitors like to catch up with the news, sporting events, events of national interest or children's programmes. Please ask if you have a particular request.

Access around this floor is restricted so you might find it easier to check in at reception here. There is a small children's play area (but the best one is on the lower ground floor) and a water fountain. There are two WCs on this floor, one of which is accessible and contains a baby changing facility. If you have arrived early, please ask for a pager so that you can visit the café downstairs. There is a great view onto the street from here and down into the café atrium. The waiting area has a television that can be used to relay information to patients or to view appropriate television programmes. Past experience has taught us that some visitors like to catch up with the news, sporting events, events of national interest or children's programmes. Please ask if you have a particular request.

The first floor includes consulting rooms 7-8 and a ninth room used for pre-operative assessment. The plaster room is also on this floor and is used by both nursing and orthotics; the treatment room where you may have tests, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. You will be escorted to all of these areas from the waiting area. Please note that you may not be called for examination in order of arrival in the department. This is because the clinical staff may have booked appointments with some patients or may place clinical priorities above you.

The first floor is a quiet place to rest and relax for patients who are on a trolley. A TV is available and nursing staff are close by to assist patients if required.

Lower ground floor

The reception and waiting area for this floor sit within a spacious atrium with a chilled water dispenser for your convenience. Here you will find a large and well equipped children's play area but please remember not to leave your children unattended. For some clinics you will find a play specialist or play assistant to help distract children who may be worried about their visit. There are two WCs on this floor, one of which is accessible. The baby changing facility is incorporated within the imaging department and is also suitable for use by adolescents and adults. Please ask for assistance.

The lower ground floor includes orthotics and the imaging department. You will be escorted to all areas from the waiting room. The imaging department will ask you to change in advance of your examination and wait in a smaller more discreet waiting room. Your wait here will be much shorter and at busy times adults may not be able to take anyone with them unless they need assistance. This is for everyone's comfort. Please also note that you may not be called for examination in order of arrival in the department. This is because the clinical staff may have booked appointments with some patients or may place clinical priorities above you.

If you are here for ultrasound you may also need time to rest after the examination. We have provided a quiet sitting room for you and your visitors, which is close to staff if needed.
