Next month, the incredible RNOH anaesthetists, aka 'Gassers', are swapping scrubs for mud as they gear up to take on Tough Mudder 2026 – all to raise vital funds for RNOH Charity!
Dr Prasan Panagoda shared why the team felt compelled to take on this challenge:
“As anaesthetists and pre-assessment staff dedicated to delivering excellent care at RNOH, we see and feel on a daily basis the wonderful work that RNOH Charity does for our patients and colleagues. From contributing towards clinical research and state-of-the-art resources to supporting staff wellbeing, the charity really strengthens the hospital in providing world‑leading care.
“To give a little back, we felt compelled to take part in a challenge to support the charity’s excellent work. Running, climbing, crawling (not to mention being electrocuted) through 5km of mud seemed like an appropriate place to start... so here we are!”
These every-day heroes spend their days caring for others – now they’re taking on mud, obstacles and electric shocks to help make an even bigger difference for our patients and staff.
