Last week, we said goodbye to Chief Nursing Officer, Prof Louise Morton, as she retired from the Trust after four years' service. Staff from across the site came to thank her and wish her the very best in her retirement following a 30 plus years' commitment to nursing.
Joining us in January 2022, Louise came with a clear leadership approach and a strong focus on nursing and quality. She played a key role in important developments across the Trust and supported teams through both planned change and more challenging periods. Her experience and perspective were valued across the organisation, and the Trust would like to thank her for the commitment to patients and colleagues she showed during her time with us.
Speaking at the farewell event, Trust CEO Paul Fish said: "As I reflect on Louise’s career, three themes stand out: her lifelong commitment to children and young people; her passion for education and developing others; and her instinct always to improve care. In all of these, Louise’s career is a story of making things better and improving the lives of future generations.
"So, on behalf of everyone here, and everyone you have cared for, supported and led across more than thirty years: thank you. Thank you for your wisdom, your steadiness, your candour, and your focus on future generations, whether they be children and young people or learners.
“We will miss you enormously. Now go and enjoy every minute of what comes next.”
