Top prizes for RNOH staff
Two RNOH members of staff scooped top prizes at the annual meeting of the Pan-Thames Regional British Society Rehabilitation of Medicine (BSRM) Audit Meeting held at Hillingdon Hospital.
Although the competition was fierce, RNOH prosthetist Marta Geada's work on her ‘Liner Prescription Audit’ and consultant Mr Manish Desai's presentation ‘Thromboprophylaxis & anticoagulation in SCI at LSCIC’ both took the top prizes. Marta is one of the budding prosthetists working within the Prosthetic & Orthotic Service at RNOH and Mr Desai is a consultant in spinal injuries and rehabilitation medicine.
The BSRM audit meeting is largely attended by multidisciplinary team members including rehabilitation medicine consultants, trainees, therapists, prosthetists from specialist brain injury/spinal injury rehabilitation units from RNOH, Hillingdon Hospital, Kings College Hospital, Queens Square Hospital (NHNN), Regional Rehabilitation Unit - Northwick Park Hospital and some peripheral smaller units.
Audit projects presented at the meeting are than submitted for national/international meetings and peer-reviewed journals for presentation and publication.
