RNOH success at the 2nd UK Myeloma Spinal Meeting
Building on the success of last year’s debut meeting, over 150 delegates attended the latest event at the Royal College of Surgeons to meet and hear from expert speakers from the UK and overseas. Chaired by Dr Charalampia Kyriakou & Mr Sean Molloy, with an introduction from RNOH Chair Prof Anthony Goldstone, the meeting offered surgeons, nurses, radiographers, therapists and others involved in myeloma an opportunity to hear about the latest work, take stock of the massive progress made in treatment in recent years and engage in discussions on where the next major developments in myeloma research will lead.
Some of the topics covered included new developments in multiple myeloma conventional therapies, the role of radiotherapy in myeloma bone disease, pathophysiology and treatment guidelines for myeloma bone disease, and a number of case presentations.
There were also stands and displays from the event sponsors including De Puy Synthes, Stryker, Globus Medical, Guardian Spine, Medtronic, and Zimmer.
