RNOH contributes to dementia care
The RNOH has contributed to beating a key government target to train 12,000 NHS staff in dementia awareness within six months. So far, over 500 RNOH clinical and non-clinical staff have attended the training provided by our own nurses. Camilla Wiley, Director of Nursing, said “We were very pleased to collaborate with our colleagues in other Trusts to effect a cultural change in dementia care and we are already seeing benefits for our patients. Dementia awareness training now forms part of the mandatory training programme for over half of our staff and we are committed to ensuring the best possible care for our patients with dementia”.
