PFI stakeholder engagement workshops
Four stakeholder engagement workshops have taken place for the PFI Project. These were set up to develop design concepts for the gardens associated with children and young people and the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre.
The workshops were undertaken in the wards and included small groups of patients and carers as well as staff who work in the units. The two hour workshops focused on developing the bidders’ understanding of how the landscaping can contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and carers and how the spaces can contribute to therapy activity.
Steph Williamson, deputy PFI project director said: "There was a great deal of discussion about planting, hard surfaces, play and recreation facilities, private spaces and more social spaces including barbeque areas. There were also some very interesting ideas from the children, which will challenge the landscape architects on both teams but will remain unpublished for now!"
