BBC Radio 1 doc '16 Plus' follows teen patient at RNOH

A BBC Radio 1 documentary, 16 Plus, asks 'what is it like to be 16 in 2013'? The programme follows four teens over several months, as they turn 16 and their lives are changed forever. One of those featured is Matt.

As he neared the age of 16, Matt from West Sussex was diagnosed with bone cancer and underwent an operation on his 16th birthday. 16 Plus follows Matt's treatment and recovery, and his quest to get back to school. Some of Matt's treatment took place at RNOH under consultant surgeon Rob Pollock and you can hear how Matt got on.

The show aired on Radio 1 on Monday 28th October at 21:00
