Limited access to outpatients car park from 30 October

Redevelopment Aerial View

From Monday 30th October there will be deep excavation work taking place in the car park immediately outside the Outpatients Department (OPD) – area marked 1 on the map. Therefore it will not be available for patients or staff to park vehicles in this area for the duration of the works. The only access allowed to the car park is for drop off and pick up only – cars dropping off patients, ambulances, courtesy vehicle, patient buggies. There will be no spaces available for patient or staff vehicles to be parked until the work is finished.

For patients driving themselves to Outpatients, they will need to park in the lower car park – area marked 2 on the map. There will be a short ferry service running from the lower car park up the hill to the Outpatients Department for those who require assistance. This will run from the early morning up to the closure of ODP in the evening from Mon-Fri.

There will be a road marshall stationed outside OPD as usual, another at the bottom of the access road that turns off the main site road, and another stationed at the lower car park, opposite the new inpatient ward block construction site. These are marked with white stars on the map. Please follow all the instructions of the marshalls. Your full cooperation is appreciated during this time.

Work is expected to last up to a maximum of two months, hopefully less, but this may be subject to change.
