RNOH redevelopment: new time-lapse video showing progress so far

Time-lapse video showing progress so far

Take a look at the construction of the new inpatient ward block at our Stanmore site. This time-lapse film, shot by Jan Letocha, covers the whole of the project so far, from demolition of the old Patient Centre right up to the last pouring of the concrete to the top level last week. There is still more to do but we hope this gives you a flavour of progress so far made by Balfour Beatty.

Using specially rigged cameras, aerial drones and headcams attached to construction workers, Jan has managed to capture nearly 40,000 images so far that he has painstakingly edited into a seamless flowing time-lapse video - and we're only half-way through! We estimate there will be over 120,000 images by the end of the project.

In the coming weeks the external shell of the building will go on and most of the activity will move inside, fitting the internal fixtures, cabling and wiring to gradually create a functioning series of ward spaces to provide high quality inpatient facilities to our patients.

The ward block is due to open in autumn 2018. Come back for regular updates.
