RNOH appoints new Non-executive Directors

The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) has confirmed the appointment of Professor Anthony Finkelstein and Mr Bertie Leigh as Non-executive Directors of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH).

Professor Finkelstein, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, is currently Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at University College London (UCL) and has developed a large portfolio of research in biomedical engineering, medical imaging and digital health.

Mr Leigh is a qualified solicitor who has specialised in medical law throughout his career, handling over 2,500 cases. Outside of medicine he has also acted for the NSPCC and the Law Society.

Welcoming the appointments, RNOH Chairman, Professor Anthony Goldstone, said: “I am delighted that Professor Finkelstein and Mr Leigh are joining the RNOH Trust Board. Their experience in technology and law will complement the skills and knowledge of our existing Board members and we look forward to working with them both”.

Professor Anthony Finkelstein said: “The RNOH is a wonderful hospital that transforms lives. It also has an immensely promising research capability that can lead to benefits not just for patients at the RNOH but transforming lives globally. I am immensely proud to have the opportunity to play a part in this.”
