Dr Jim Marshall OBE, the guitar amplifier innovator who donated nearly £1 million to the RNOH has died.
Dr Marshall funded the RNOH’s Adolescent Unit extension,a new digital radiology machine, which is housed in the Jim Marshall Room of the Imaging Department, and equipment for the Trust’s clinical research facility.
Rosie Stolarski, head of fundraising, said he retained fond memories of the RNOH.
"Dr Marshall was our most generous donor; we are very appreciative of his financial support, which really enhanced patient care," she said.
"We really valued his significant contribution."
In a previous interview, Dr Marshall said:“I am often asked to lend my support to various organisations, but never have I had an opportunity to support an organisation to which I owe such a large debt of gratitude. In my early years I was a long-term patient at the RNOH in Stanmore, so I fully understand the importance and necessity of the specialist work they carry out."
