The RNOH (the Trust) and all Contractors engaged by the Trust are bound by the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated Regulations. The Contractors- Information Pack - Safety Requirements and Guidance Notes are intended to ensure that the risks associated with the work activities of Contractors working on the Trust's premises are adequately considered and controlled. The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require the co-operation and co-ordination between the employer and Contractor. The Trust and Contractor have a duty to inform each other of activities being undertaken, the risks arising from those activities and the control measures being used.
All Contractors are required to comply with these notes. These notes are deemed to form part of the Conditions of Contract. They represent a minimum standard to be achieved, however where formal Specifications or Forms of Contract are used, these may impose more specific duties upon the Contractor.
