Improving the patient experience is at the heart of everything we do. The RNOH is committed, therefore, to receiving the opinions of our patients and the public and would like to offer you the opportunity of becoming more involved in the work of the hospital. For example, if you have views about, or a particular interest in any of the following:
- Information we give to patients
- The facilities or environment of the hospital
- Access for disabled people or those whose first language is not English
- Hospital redevelopment
- Waiting times
or anything else to do with the hospital, then there are two key ways you can become more involved.
1. Patient Experience Improvement Committee
By becoming a representative on our Patients Experience Improvement Committee you can help us to build understanding and trust between the hospital and the community, helping to improve the services we provide to our patients.
This committee has been specifically set up to review all the user feedback we receive and to identify areas for change or improvement and ensure these are implemented across the organisation. The committee is made up of a wide spectrum of RNOH staff and patients, and meets bi-monthly at Stanmore.
If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, then please contact our Customer Care and PALS Co-ordinators on 0208 909 5717/5439 for more details.
2. RNOH Patients' Group
The Patients' Group is made up of patients and people interested in improving the patient experience at the RNOH.
The group meets monthly at the Stanmore site to provide a forum for discussion and feedback and to influence improvements to patient care. Members of staff from the hospital provide regular updates on activities, projects and initiatives. The chairman of the group attends the Trust Board as an observer.
Members are actively involved in the following ways:
- They have a regular programme of visits to wards, units and departments at Stanmore and Bolsover Street and their reports from these visits are taken to the Trust Board
- Members have representation on a number of Trust committees
- Involvement in clinical audits
- Reviewing patient information leaflets
The Group is always looking to increase its membership and would welcome your support. Prospective members will need to be CRB checked in order to undertake visits.
If you are interested in joining this group, please contact our Customer Care and PALS Co-ordinators on 0208 909 5717/5439 for more details.
