This course is aimed at the entire multidisciplinary team responsible for the care of patients with fragility fractures:

  • Orthopaedic Surgeons

This course retains the basic structure of underlying science, multidisciplinary management, secondary prevention and policy change, while emphasising the following themes:

  • Anabolic treatment for bone muscle
  • Fragility fractures in men
  • Prevention and treatment of delirium
  • Obesity and fragility fractures
  • Conundrums in osteoporosis treatment - drug holidays, atypical fractures, cardiovascular risk, etc
  • The QOF and FLS in primary and secondary care
  • Expansion of NHFD to include FLS
  • The Fragility Fracture Network of the Bone and Joint Decade
  • BPT and other national developments
