This department is supported by a team of experienced orthotists and orthoses are manufactured on site in the centre's workshops. The team specialise in assessing and managing complex orthotic problems, and frequently work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, especially orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists.
The orthotics department is at the far end of the hospital site so if the shuttle bus is not operating, we recommend that patients visit the porters' lodge at the Brockley Hill main entrance, and ask for transportation to the orthotic department.

Referrals
Referrals can be made by GPs direct to the department or via an RNOH orthopaedic consultant
Letters must indicate urgent/non urgent
Patients who need transport should call the Trust's transport assessment team on 020 7188 2888
Once orthotics have been supplied and followed up, patients will be referred back to their GP. Subsequent referrals will need a new GP referral.
