The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) is now able to share images digitally, using PACS exchange and Burbank Electronic Image Portal.

Digital image sharing MUST NOT be used to exchange images for teaching, research or clinical trials. We will only accept requests for import or export of images when:

• Patient care is transferred from a clinician at one organisation to a clinician at another
• The ongoing patient care is shared between clinicians at more than one organisation as part of clinical network service
• Imaging is reviewed within a Multidisciplinary Team Meeting (MDTM) as part of an agreed clinical network service
• An urgent clinical opinion is required from a specialist clinician at another organisation

To request image import or export via PACS exchange, please complete the external imaging transfer request form and e-mail the request to rno-tr.RNOH-PACS-EXCHANGE@nhs.net.

Incomplete requests will be rejected.

Electronic image portal

The RNOH is now connected to Burbank Electronic Imaging Portal (IEP) sharing solution.

Out of hour's emergency requests

In an emergency (between 17:00 and 08:30 Monday to Friday and weekends), please make a request by following the guidelines above and contact the on-call radiographer via the hospital switchboard on 0208 954 2300.
