The brief
In May 2008 the Special Trustees agreed to commission the artwork for the new Outpatient Assessment Centre at Bolsover Street.
The brief was to develop and implement an art strategy that is relevant to the work of the hospital which reflects the quality of care and expertise offered by RNOH specialists. It is important that the artwork not only integrates with the approach taken to interior design but also with the internal approach to way finding and principle colour schemes planned for the facility. Furthermore it was agreed that the long and illustrious history of the hospital and the dedication of its staff should be represented and where possible the art should include the opportunity to distract visitors by providing access to the 'story' of the RNOH.
